The story behind Thee Quintessentials — Houston's home bakery built on passion, culinary training, and zero box mixes.
It Started at 16
It all started when I was about 16 years old. I picked up baking, fell in love with the Food Network, and never looked back. That passion turned into a calling — so I went to school for culinary arts with a focus in baking and pastry.
After graduating, I couldn't find a job in the field. So I made a decision: I'd work for myself. Thee Quintessentials was born out of that moment — a commitment to doing things the right way, on my own terms.
Everything I make is from scratch. No box mixes Ever. That includes all of our preserves and fillings, made in-house with real ingredients.

Our cakes are a bit heavy and somewhat dense depending on the flavor — that's intentional. We use Greek yogurt and sour cream for a moist, rich crumb that holds up beautifully.
